Doomsday Clock

The Doomsday Clock is a battle-royale style zone game modifier added in Update 33.0. It is part of the public modifier rotation, so it can turn up in public games.

How it works

A shrinking doom zone closes in over the course of a match, and the sides judged to be doomed steadily lose troops — and their warships. A 10-minute grace period holds the clock off at the start of the game, and a wave-based squeeze ramps up later on to break late-game stalemates.

Details

  • The troop drain is floored at 5% of a side's maximum rather than wiping it straight to zero, so being doomed cripples a side without instantly deleting it.
  • Warships decay alongside troops for doomed sides, at a gentler-but-steeper rate of attrition.
  • Doomed warships stay out on patrol instead of idling at their ports.
  • In team games, teams are judged against the same bar as solo sides.
